Is there hope on the Horizon or is the UK going its own way? (universitiesuk.ac.uk)

After many months of uncertainty, the R&I actors in Europe fear possible consequences on longstanding scientific relationships if no solution can be found for the association of Switzerland and the UK to Horizon Europe, still blocked in their respective global bilateral relations with the EU.

Peter Mason, Head of Global Research and Innovation Policy at Universities UK International (UUKI) brings up the current concerns about the situation in the UK in the UUKI blog: “We are closer than ever to the UK deciding to go its own way, but there is still time to rescue the deal. […] As the Stick to Science campaign is already doing, we need the European research and innovation community to speak loudly and with one voice, telling our governments that this path risks a severe and self-inflicted wound to our continent’s scientific potential. But the clock is ticking.”
