The Representation of the State of Baden-Württemberg to the European Union invites you to attend a panel discussion on the impact of the failure of the EU-Switzerland Institutional Framework Agreement on research cooperation on 12 October 2022 (12:30-13:30 CET). The discussion will focus on the reasons for and consequences of Switzerland’s non-association with Horizon Europe on European research cooperation, and more broadly on the current obstacles for scientific collaborations in Europe, with the UK and Switzerland not associated to EU R&I programmes yet.
The welcome address will be delivered by Florian Hassler, State Secretary in the State Ministry and Representative of the State of Baden-Württemberg to the European Union.
The panel discussion will bring together:
- Fabien Fivaz, Member of the Greens in the Federal Assembly of Switzerland and President of the Commission of Science, Education and Culture of the National Council
- Prof Dr Michael O. Hengartner, President of the ETH Board
- Prof Dr Kerstin Krieglstein, Rector of the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg
- Lukas Mandl MEP, Member of the EPP Group in the European Parliament
Under the moderation of Stephan Ueberbach, SWR Brussel
